fan for 88, if you don't mind me asking, what is a ford cobra 9"?
: : I had a 250 6 C4 and a 302 in my car for a short time and the stock 6 driveshaft did not have to be shortened, so it may be too short. You can try turning the driveshaft 180 degrees to reverse its balance, this fixed a vibration I had. -CP
: re:i have 70 mav and the shaft is the same lenth 6 or 8 cyl. aslong you running c-4 trans!!!i even changed to ford cobra 9" and still the same..check if maybe you knocked the flst weight off sside of shaft or your yook maybe not torked enough? just a thought!!i tried getting under mine but iam lowered wat to lowand my neighber has my jack!!!iamm going to call him know it been 2:wks...to long.. good luck..damon
: : : I am having a serious vibration in my drivetrain, and I know it isn't the engine. I suspect either the rearend or my driveshaft is too short(had it shortened during 302 swap) and not contacting the bushing in my C4, but again I am not sure exactly. What I am asking is for atleast two people here who have a 302 Maverick with C4 would measure their driveshafts from center of U-joint-to-center of U-joint, so that I can make sure my driveshaft is infact the correct length. I have had this vibration ever since the swap and I haven't been able to isolate it, unless two of you can help me. I know it is hard to get under there, but please help. BTW, if it matters, 70 Maverick, 8 inch rear.
