there is no way you can reverse the balance, it's spin balanced by itself. Not like a tire and rim. Probably had the u-bolts so tight it warpped the bearing cups, the first time. More info required, did you have the shaft rebalanced after it was shorten with the U-joints in?
Did you also change the rearend on your swap? If so the rearend has to be aligned, very easy to do at home. Otherwise the U-jionts have to work more then they are designed for.
Shaft length can be a problem if the output shaft is wobbling in the trans shaft.
Have you tried just bring the engine up slowly at different rpms in nertual to see if it vibrates at all? Flywheeel/convertor out of balance possible.
Does it vibrate at all speeds or just a special speed, and if you put the trans in nertual when it does it, does the vibration stop? Shaft is still turning. Won't hurt the trans either.
Normally the rearend won't be the problem, tires can cause it, as can a bend axle.

: I am having a serious vibration in my drivetrain, and I know it isn't the engine. I suspect either the rearend or my driveshaft is too short(had it shortened during 302 swap) and not contacting the bushing in my C4, but again I am not sure exactly. What I am asking is for atleast two people here who have a 302 Maverick with C4 would measure their driveshafts from center of U-joint-to-center of U-joint, so that I can make sure my driveshaft is infact the correct length. I have had this vibration ever since the swap and I haven't been able to isolate it, unless two of you can help me. I know it is hard to get under there, but please help. BTW, if it matters, 70 Maverick, 8 inch rear.
