: I was walking by my Grabber at the shop today and the hood was up when it struck me....why not make your scoops functional,as in RAM AIR!Has anyone tried this?Got any pics if you have?It looks pretty simple, some weather stripping,a fabricated breather....
Let me try this again...lost it yesterday.
Anyway...if you look at the underside of the hood. The frame would pretty much just need to be sealed up all the way to the rear of the hood. Like double skinning it. Then...cut intake holes in the middle towards the center of the hood, but inside the framing for each side. Keeping this off center from the entry should just about keep any water from getting to the air filter. Then...I don't know if y'all saw the article in Hot Rod for the "fresh air" air cleaner? Just surround a 14 inch aftermarket breather with sheet metal, then scab in some A/C 4x10 square to 4 inch round adapter. Then run colapsable hose from there to the holes in the hood skin. Instant fresh air. Of course, you could just skin the whole underside of the hood, and cut out where the breather is. That way when the hood is down, the breather is isolated from the engine.
