We have a T-5 about to go into our Saleen Mav. We have dry fitted it so far. Our car was an automatic, but where the floor was marked from the factory for a shifter was almost perfect for the T-5. As for the driveshaft, I've been told by different sources (I'm running a 9 inch rear), that I'll need to have a driveshaft made with one end from a T-5 car and one from a 9 inch car. I've been quoted about $200 for one custom made. It's not that much work for the product you have in the end.

: You can use your exsisting Z-bar along with a conversion bellhousing (sold by several Mustang vendors). Then you'll have to fabricate a tranny crossmember and driveshaft like you said. The shifter location might be a problem, I don't know of anyone who has completed the swap, I've heard S10 transmission parts can locate the shifter farther forward,you being a tranny guy maybe you can look into this better.
