Hate to break this to you'll, but in most cases they're the same springs. Only certain models, mostly 4dr with A/Cs & V-8s had different springs. Checked part numbers, and coil specs, they never lie. Problem is you have old springs and you're adding more weight. For a little racing set of springs, get the factory weaker springs from a local parts stores. You have to look at free height and weight rating. Coil # & diameter of coils is the factor. Think about this, if you go to headers, aluminum manifold, you have reduced the weight of the V-8. 302 only weights about 450 lbs. Then get rid of the power steering, a few fiberglass parts, you end up weighing the same or less then the 6 cyl. Mavericks/comets just didn't have allot of spring options.
: Lets hear everyones opinion. When performing a V8 swap into a 6 cyl chassis, do you really need to change springs if they are in good condition?
