I do some exhaust work at work, and of course the bigger the tubes the bigger the pain in the butt for the mechanic, so he doesn't want to do it, but it definately can be done. Convince these guys to do it or find another shop that will. I have 2.25 right now and there's room for more, its just a question of being skilled enough to pull it off. Exhaust work is all about experience (I know, because when I do exahust work (seldom) I realize I don't have enough! :) ) -CP
: I have a 73 Mercury Comet with a 289 and headers. I was wondering what you guys were running for exhaust systems. I wanted to run 2 and half inch dauls out the back but my local exhaust guy said it would be tough to run that size pipe over the axle. He suggested 2 to 2 and a quarter at the biggest. Any info would be apprieciated. Thanks Jeff.
