Also does it have the bolt in front crossmember brace that goes under the oil pan? V-8s only had that. Also VIN tells if V-8.

I am sure that the V-8 that is in is not the original one. Every number I have been able to trace tells me that the engine is a '69 302. Looking at the cross member, it has a "hump" on the p.s. of the mount that clears the exhaust just fine. That is the only type of mount I have ever found for a Maverick, so... (only other Mav's I have been able to see were six cyl....
