You know, if I were not a regular on this forum, I might be thinking "wow, someone went through a heck of a lot to help someone else out and couldn't even get a thank you for the trouble. Ricky, if you felt like you got ripped on this matter, why didn't you say something to Paulie first? You didn't mention any names in your post, but, I'm sure at least some of us knew who you were talking about. Berating her like that, without talking to her about your concerns first, was not cool at all.
Having been in those same shoes once before (on both sides of the story), I know that sometimes those being helped are pre-occupied and may not convey their appreciation at that moment. This has happened to me before. No biggie, the thanks usually came within a day or two. I have also been the one who had not conveyed thanks at beeing helped. I was pre-occupied with what was happening and just didn't think about it. I did apologized and conveyed my thanks, though, when I realized what I didn't do.
As Tom said, you have helped out too many people on this board to count, myself included, with excellent advise. The sharing of your knowledge with the people here is something I hope will continue.
: Well I got up early on a Sunday morning, spent 7 hours of the day, drove almost 180 miles, didn't even get paid enough to cover the gas and boat ride home, and using my vehicle and auto trailer to haul someone else's car for them. And then don't even get a thank you. I guess that's what you get when you help someone.
