I'm having to replace my exhaust flange gasket (donut gasket) rather frequently. The exhaust manifold itself is in good shape and the pipes are fair up to the mufflere where there is a bit of rust. The ones at the parts shop are all clay/metal crush type gaskets. I'm wondering if there is a gasket made of more modern matterial that would last longer or if there's some trick to getting it in properly. When I remove the old ones the clay is allmost completely burnt away and much of the metal rings are also gone. Any ideas would be VERY helpfull on this one.

Thanks in advance.

Steve-S
