you should be able to just bounch the car and hear it. Otherwise you probably have a axle bearing starting to go bad. If they're the orginals and they probably are, just replace both now. You'll have to sooner or later. Might want to consider pulls the thrid member and changing the gear oil. After all every thing is around 30yrs old.

: Hello everyone!
: For the past week or so I have been hearing a wierd squeaking noise that to me seems like it is coming from the back right side, like maybe in the trunk area. It sort of sounds like a tire rubbing against the tire well. So I checked all of my tires to make sure that there was nothing visiably wrong and as far as I can see there is enough clearence. Now the next thing that I checked was the spare in the back. When I bought the car it had part of the jack assembly but was missing some parts so that got junked and the only thing that I could salvage was the little foot thing that goes underneath the tire. It has always been lose and squeaks but that noise is different. I am not sure but could this noise be coming from something on my suspension. The noise is only heard while going over small bumps. Not big ones. Wierd stuff. Thanks in advance.
