TL has mentioned on this board that Ford made a prototype Boss maverick, don't have any evidence to back that up, but entirely possible. Motor Trend stuck a Boss 302 in a Maverick in 1970 (before the V8 was available), I have the article printable on my website
Maverickgrabber.com. CLick on 'Maverick & Comet Archives' and then 'Articles' -CP
: First off has anyone ever heard of a prototype 1970 Boss Maverick? I am a former owner of a 1971 Maverick which I purchased in 1992 with 47,000 miles on it for $100! I drove this car for 2 years and 50,000 before I sold it for $600.(I wish I still had it) My second question is: Back in the early 80`s I almost bought a 1970 model. I swear this car had the ignition down low on thew dash, not on the column. Did the early `70s produced in 1969 come this way? I have never seen another Maverick with a dash mounted ignition.
