For sometime I have been endeavouring to source one of our late OHC EFI 4.0lt sixes, which are slightly tricked up by Oz Fords performance arm called Tickford. These engines are about 220HP and are super smooth and quiet etc and will smoke a V8. Its for a guy in the US who plans to put it in his early Falcon Coupe.
Last Saturday I located a perfect 1995 unit for him which is still in the car. Its only done 36,000 miles so its virtually new. It will be supplied with everything needed such as wiring harness, aircleaner, hoses, new ecu etc, etc.
I will be overseeing its extraction and provision of all the necessary parts and then arranging for the supply of an approved shipping crate, packing and delivery to a shipper. We will also probably look at including a few basic spares, factory workshop manual for wiring diagrams etc and anything else he wants.
Now the problem at the moment is I cannot raise the guy on his email, as he has a job that requires travel etc and in his last email to me on 14 September he did indicate he was busy. The wrecker is a good friend and has agreed to allow a further week before selling this engine locally, which should be enough time to eventually hear from him. I am confident he will take it, but its possible he may have other committments at this time.
Either way if he doesn’t respond soon or if it turns out he cannot take it then maybe one of you may like to have 2nd option.
The deal on this engine with a new ecu is $US1700 although its possible we might be able to get an ecu cheaper so it could be $US1550. Shipping by sea which includes the cost of an approved crate and landed at LA for collection from a cargo depot will be approx $US330.
Therefore, delivered to LA its approx $US1880 or $US2030. Considering what you will get for that money its worth thinking about. The Tickford versions do not come up often and they are not maxed out by any means so there is scope for much more HP, ie a few more tricks and a turbo will give you 400HP and then there’s psssssst, lol.
Heres some pics of the engine.

Imagine lifting the hood at your local servo with this underneath !!!!!
