: hey there ford guys,
: I've got a 1974 maverick with orginally a 6 cylinder in it and i am wanting to drop a small block chevy in it just for fun. i am a chevy guy and i don't know if this combo will work since i have never worked with fords. i know i will have to totally redo the wiring and new engine and tranny mounts. anything else that i need to know before i start?? and is this swap worth it or do i just need to put a 6 cylinder back in?? thanks, shane

LOL, Charlie thats right. Sell that chebbie for a down payment on a 347 Motorsport stroker and kick some Chevy butt! Youll have to get an early chevy II front sump pan and pickup which is almost impossible to find unless you buy new from Summit. Then you'll have header problems. Hooker used to make swap headers in the '70s. I guess I'm a Ford guy and wouldn't think of putting a Windsor in a bowtie! It's yours, do what you want! Good luck! Bill
