: I am dumping my 600 cfm Holley and am unsure what to get now. I have a 302, 10:1 comp. ratio, performer cam, performer 289 intake, headers, dual exh., 2 1/4 flowmasters. Automatic trans., with the hurtfull 3.00:1 rear gears. These are my choices: 600 cfm Holley #HOL-O-80457S, Edlebrock 500cfm #EDE-1404, 600cfm Edlebrock #EDE-1405, or 600cfm Edlebrock #EDE-1406. I really want the best carb. for 1/4 mile use. But also want gas milage, but like I said excelleration is the most important thing right now. BTW, 70 Maverick 2dr
Have tried them all on my drag Mav. My thought is with your motor the Edelbrock 600 out of the box will perform like you want. If you use a double pumper on the street, gas mileage will suffer bad. Read the manual that comes with the Edelbrock and you can re jet etc. for the track. For the money, and little rework, the 1405 is a good bet.
