: Its fairly simple. You need to drain the tank down to about a 1/4 tank.I also jacked up the drivers side to keep any left over fuel to the far side. Remove the fuel line from the tank, and the plug for the elec. There is a lock ring that holds the sending unit in the tank it needs to be removed counter-clock-wise. The sending unit has a rubber O-ring behind it, that you can get from Ford for about $1.00. Its held in place in a groove on the tank. Remove the sending unit. (you have to turn and move it in different directions to get the whole thing out of the tank). The float is on the end of the rod on the sending unit. Its held on by a small indentation in the float itself. You can just twist the float out of the holder. Install your new float and reassemble in reverse order. Russ
