I was baffled until I replaced mine. Shocks dry out when they sit and aren't used. Sounds like your car did a lot of that the last 25 years. -CP

: You know, your prob right about the shocks cause thats about where the squeaks are coming from. Sounded like the springs squeakin againts the rubber soles on each cup. But I sprayed all that to see if the sound changed or lessened and nothing changed. I wasnt using the wadoo to fix it but to locate. How do shocks dry out? Seems like they shouldnt if their sealed properly. Then again these are the original shocks. Car has 32600. Nothings been changed. Cept brake shoes, tune ups etc. Tires. Get this though, I still have the original rotor, cap and spark plugs. Even have the original brake shoes with 1/3 left. Original spare tire that holds air. lol. I might be selling her in awile. Im looking at a 4x4. A Jeep Commanche w/4.0 inline. Man wants 3800, I figure thats what I'll get for the mav, maybe more. She books at 3000,blue book, so...

: : : I have had these squeaks since I bought her and I cannot find them for the life of me. Serious. It starts mostly when its cool out and always when its cold/winter. The squeaks happen with slight dips and bumps in the road. Even real subtle movement does it. Not if the front end is moving a lot like as if your pushing up and down on the car. Ive gotten under her and sprayed wd40 all over the suspension and springs and cant seem to locate . This happens on both sides. If I could find where they are at I could lather white lithium grease all in it. help. its embarrasing.
