Bent cam, no f^%$#$%% way. They break or wipe lobes and that's all they'll do. Metal in the oil, could be a cracked piston skirt shaving the cylinder sides. Or rods rubbing on the crank. Or the cam timing gears rubbing. Thrust bearing worn down allowing the crank to move to much and shaving metal from somewhere. email me and we can work something out. Hate to see a Ford broke down. Sunday next week is open. :Well, the guy came out and we went over the situation.. the cam shaft is bent and is producing 'shavings' that you can see in the oil. The Oil leaks are coming from the valve covers and a couple of other places (and as usual, you guys hit it right on the head... oil sending unit toast). He gave me a great quote (verbal) for the engine replacement so I asked him to let me think about what else I could do. I have sent him a letter asking for a contract of the work for my review and if and when I receive it ALice will be back on the road relatively soon. If I DON'T get that writen estimate with everything spelled out I go back to "shopping"..... |
