:John: Number 1 is the first plug at the front. As to why the mark is 180 out, my guess would be that the key is either missing or sheared as you indicate the engine still runs to a reasonable degree so it means the dist. is in near correct and the cam gears are still on mark. Try to get the number 1 cyl. up on comp. accuratly as possible then scribe a mark on the front pulley as a zero ref point. Time to that mark then set to what you estimate would be about 6 BTC, then run the car a day or so then recheck to see if it has changed. If so then you know what's going on.
