:All sixes up to a certain year had 4 lug including the 250 sixes. During this time period, the V8 was the only 5 lug Maverick.
: :The front discs on the Maverick were all 5 lug, I'm pretty sure. : :Both the 4 lug and the 5 lug rear were 8" rearends, so it doesn't make any difference. I think you will find that there are other front disc converted cars that still have the 4 lug in back. (As you say, you can't tell under the hubcap). : :=============================================================== : ::I have a 72 Mav 2 dr with a 250 6 cyl and C-4. The engine is not a transplant -- the door plate code is correct for a 250. Regarding the hubs, I thought that 250 sixes had 5 studs, mine has 4. Any of you experts out there know which cars had 5 studs? ::Also, if I switch to front discs from a later Mav, will the hubs have 5 studs? Is there any advantage to swapping rear axles or (not sure if this can be done) re-drilling the flanges for 5 studs? ::Right now I have stock hub caps and trim rings so if I had 5 front and 4 rear, no one would know (except Mav messge board visitors, hee hee). Thanks. Tom |
