::The bottom of the seat pulls out, and the back of the seat then lifts straight up -- it sits in some sort of slots or hooks. But my car already had cutouts for 6x9's. Are you planning some monsters?

:I am planning to put in two 6x9 Infinity's. Maybe Pioneer or some Sony's if I like how they sound. I will probably go with a Kenwood or Alpine cd player. Putting two Sony tweeters up front. I don't plan on putting in subs because I am on a limited budget.

The backrest to the rear seat should be held in by two bolts at the bottom. I didn't even bother to pull the bottom part out, as I could feel the bolts through the crack in the seat and get a socket on them. After removing the backrest, all you have to do is remove the screws for the side panels, they don't need to be taken out, just moved a little when pulling the cardboard out. The metal rear deck has 6 X 9 cutouts in it already, so the cardboard is all you have to cut.

Before removing it, get in the trunk with a pencil and scribe the underside of the cardboard with the speakerholes and mounting screw locations. That will make it easier to know where to cut once the cardboard is out. Also, 30 year old cardboard can crumble when being cut, so be careful.
