I had thought about a 2.3 turbo from a T bird or even an XR4TI. Even though they are 4-cylinders, they should be fairly easy to adapt to a Maverick, and they can make lots of power in a small car. Plus it kind of fits with the import theme. Putting a turbo on a stock Ford six might be an engineering challenge, mainly because the stock intake/head doesn't breathe well at all, and wouldn't respond well to forced induction. I'm not a turbo expert my any means, but you might want to change to a set of dished pistons to lower your compression ratio a bit before strapping on a turbo. Let us know how it goes, and post pictures if possible!
