your mind (better half) is already made up.(just kidding) It is called a "project" so do it how you want. Different people say to do it different ways. Do what works best for you and your "better half" and only you know what that way is. Sounds like she is being supportive in your efforts, so let her have some input. That way you do not have to here " I TOLD YOU SO" later on. If you need speed now, change the gears, cause from what you are writing you want it to be quick. 1/4 mile or stop light to stop light gears is fairly cheap. Besides all that are these kind of projects ever really completely finished. Just my opinion.
