::A D20E-BA is a 72 302 with 53.5cc chambers. That is the only number close to what you said you have. Put them on 11.1 pistons and you will get 13 to 14.1 compression, and no valve size or port volume to use all that, plus non adjustable rockers. Pass on the heads and get the pistons, but check them very closely for flaws, size etc.

:thanks for the info.ok so the heads go on the shelf,so ive got these pistons and i just happen to have an unused 30 over 289.ive got the orig. heads[68 2v]and a set of 69 302 2v heads.any of these combinations make sense or am i going to have to save for some big dollar heads.thanks for letting me tap your brain. mcmav

All the 289-302 heads have the same size ports and valves. The later models have thermactor bosses as well. None of the heads you have will be much different. I would check Ford boneyards for a 69 of 70 model anything and see if you can pinch some 351 heads. The ports are bigger and more worth the effort. Of course, they still won't have screw in studs, but they are OK heads if you can get 'em cheap.
