:I feel the time has come for a rear gear change. --- OPTION 1: I guy I know has a 9" Truck rear already narrowed to fit a Maverick for $300. Everything is there except the center section.(brakes and all).I already have a 9" open diff. center section out of a truck that would bolt in this rear.(But would really like to have a posi.)--- Option 2: I go out and buy a complete 8" center section with the ratio I want and a posi. diff. and keep my housing that in my car. I have a mild 289 that is guesstamated at 250 hp. Thanks for the thoughts. Russ

Russ, based on you present setup and no future plans to make 500 hp, go with the 8" you have and buy a center section built the way you want. $300 a bit to much for a housing and no center. The new complete 8" will be around $500 +/- depending on where and weather its a new or rebuilt unit. Check PEROGIES web site for reference.
