In my Navy days I spent 6 months in Iceland in the middle of the winter of 78. Went to Reykjavík. They have outdoor swimming pools year round(average about 20 below). They are heated by volcanic hot springs as well as all their homes. They have white outs where it literary snows so hard you cant see more than 6 feet in front of you. WE used to fly in this crap, had to taxie, take off, and land by ground radar because you couldn,t see anything. Glad those days are over, although Reykjavik was pretty neat. I don't remember seeing any Mav's at the time.
