95% of all cars sold are what the dealership and Ford wants sold. That includes options. Dealerships add them on because the are good for their profit, and things are the same today. You could even get A/C, P/S, manual/auto trans, etc, just depends on what they think will sell best. Smog pumps depends on the engine requirements from the EPA has per trans, eng, carb and shipping desitnation, IE cal. not all Cal cars stayed in Cal and not all Cal cars got smog pumps. :I was looking in the paper to day and found a 1975 4-door maverick, with power breaks and stearing, and says needs exaust work, for only 300 fo rhte car, but thats not question, I have a 1975 4-door mav, 200 i-6 and it doesn't have power breaks, so I was wondering does this mean it has a 302?? or a 250 in it???? or was it just an addon if you wanted it in 1975???? any ideas would be great!!!!
