: Does any one have a code chart on the C6's. I have one on C4's but picked up a small block C6 yesterday and need to find out some info on it. The code #'s are as follows--PGD-BF26 F29.
: : Thanks for any help. Guy, happy to be of some help. PGD-BF2xx xx is used in 1978 F series pickup with the 302 engine. The rest of the numbers are indicators of factory changes in the build for what ever reason and application. You have a nice find. For use with over 400 hp/lots of torque, 9"rear and good relibality. Between the years of 74-79, the C6 to fit the small blocks were used in the following:: 74 Torino/351w, 75-76-77-78 Econolines/351w, 77 F ser. pu./351w, 78 LTDII/351W, 78 Bronco/351w, 78 Cuogar/351w, 78 F ser,pu/I300 /302/351w, 79 Ford/351, 79 Econoline/300/302/351. NOTE there were other transmissions used with these engines. When looking at the ID tag, you are looking for the following first 2 letters as follow, as well as the small bell housing size--PGA-xx/ PGD-xx/ PJD-Wx/ PJA-xx/ PEA-xx. The (FMX) trans. Id. is-- PHA/PHB-xx-- for all applications. Ken |
