The condition that Ken described regarding the fuel boiling in the carburetor and overflowing into the engine causing hard starts is referred to as having a carburetor that is "heat soaked". Vapor lock occurs when fuel is boiling in the line or carburetor while the car is running causing it to run very poorly due to inconsistent fuel delivery. There, even us somewhat experienced folks make mistakes. wm
