:What you also want to do once you get everthing out and cleaned, is before you do any painting, inspect closely around the shock towers for cracks. They are a weak area for cracks to start. you can get them welded up easily. Also do the A-Arm mode of lower the upper arms. Install all front end parts with the engine out. Much easier.

:Good ideas. I have the engine out of my 72 and plan to "sanitize" the engine compartment also. What's a good brand of stain black hi-temp? Someone mentioned Krylon and after checking about 10 stores I found out they don't make it.
I was going to attend the round-up, but a business commitment got in the way. I hate it when a job interferes with car stuff!! After viewing Craig's picture and reading the favorable comments, I'm sorry I missed a great event. Oh well, there's always next year.
Only in Wisconsin: spotted a late sixties red Caddy convertible the other day with, get this, side pipes!!!!!!! I wonder what planet that guy came from?

::Clean out the engine bay and if you know someone with weilding skills, patch the holes that are by the battery tray. Also not a bad idea to hit the compartment with a coat of satin black high temp paint. I also, cleaned and painted brackets, pullies and misc. things. Poor man's chrome.
