:Ok, I confess, this isn't a Mav question.... But the sooner
:I get this problem solved, the sooner I can get on with working
:on my Mav!
:
:I'm trying to change out half shafts on an unnamed import, and
:getting the spindle nut off is proving to be an exercise in self-control.... So far the nut is winning, having refused to budge after a half-dozen heavy applications of Liquid Wrench and a breaker bar (with or without an additional 3ft of cheater bar!). I've also tried my trusty air wrench, which was good enough to get the flexplate bolts off of the Mav, again with no results. Best I can guess is that I've put upwards of 450ft-lbs of torque to this thing and it isn't moving. In desperation, I've also tried heating the nut with a torch. Oh yeah, I checked to make sure I am in fact trying to turn it the right direction.... Although I have tried to get it to turn the other way abit to break it free. No luck.
:
:So does anyone have any other ideas? Or just words of wisdom to encourage continued patience while the Liquid Wrench works its glacial magic? I'm seriously considering just cutting the beast off of there. Though that might damage the old half shaft which I need to return as a core.

:Ihad the same problem with a H**** when I worked at a muffler shop, I had to borrow a 48" pipe wrench and add a 6ft. pipe to the handle!! After about a half hour of standing on the pipe (I tipped the scales at 260 at the time!!) and 3 cans of WD40 she broke loose. Anyway what I am trying to say is don't give up and lottsa luck.
