The cases were basically the same for many years, and up to 90 amps were availiable inside the case.

I found a local rebuilder of alternators/starters and got them to build me a 90 amp for my car. -CP

::I'm looking to boost up my alternator size in my 1970 Mav...what year/model should I look for and at what amp rating ......
:Largest stock size for the year is 55 amp. Has an ID of D0AF-E and D0AF-H. Can't tell the one to use do to the mounting,location and weather a 6 or v8 engine. The 73/74 cars had on option for 60 amp. Get some help at the parts store so the mounting and wire hookup is correct. You should consider a matching regulator also.
