Ok so I can't give you an "expert's" opinion, but.... Drop me a private email and I can give you directions to my house (in Woodinville) where I could check out Alice for you -- free. Regarding any advice I might give: you get what you pay for! But if it would give you some peace of mind to know that another set of eyes from this list has actually seen her engine in person, I'd be happy to help. Disclaimer: I have no qualification of any sort to be a mechanic other than that I always did all of my own engine maintenance on my own 302 mav, right down to a full teardown and -- I hope soon -- rebuild. Regarding storage: I have always heard that if you are planning to store a car long term, you need to disconnect the battery and drain all of the fluids, including gas from the tank. I can't imagine turning over the engine only "once in a while" would do much good unless you are planning to run it. Quite the opposite: cranking a cold engine is one of the worst causes of wear. But this is just wisdom from my granddad who did rebuild engines in his day.... --David Oh yeah, my wife tells me to say that I'm not just some sick pervert looking to take advantage of you.
