Thanks for responding...I've taken a great number of measurements on both cars and I plan to lightly tack it together to start with using hammer adjustments and a grinder to bring it in to those numbers . I just don't know how much force will be exerted on my welds . I see these frame rails are really light stuff, I don't think it's going to see much stress?????........Thanks......Jerry

: Jerry if you just stitch weld it on both sides( 1/2"x 2" 0n center staggered) That should be plenty to hold it. I would also wrap the ends. Now my question is,How in the world are you going to get it square in line ???

:Hi Guys ! I just found this page . Looks like alot of people here know their stuff . I am in the process of removing the rear frame from a 73 6 cyl Maverick and re-installing it in a 74 V8 Maverick .The rear spring mounts are SHOT on the 74 and everything else is SHOT on the 73 . I have carefully removed the good frame rail and intend to weld it into the 74 . I weld fairly well . My question is... Has anybody here tried this ? and How did you re-enforce the weld ? Any and all input will be helpful.....Thanks .......Jerry
