The problem is the bushing attached to the mirror. The bad news is I don't think there's anything that can be done about it.
The good news is that the mirror & bushing unscrews (2 phillips) and is interchangable with all other non-remote sport mirrors, including Torino, Mustang II, Pinto, Mustang, etc etc. Scour the junkyards or look for a broken one at a swap meet for cheap.


:My right sport mirror wobbles on my '72 Grabber. ¿Is there some sticky stuff that I could put on the ball joint that will allow nearly normal function? Currently the housing is stuffed with ghost turds (a.k.a. styrofoam packing peanuts) which works surprisingly well.
