What I do in these situations when no other option is feasible.
Take the head back off. Use acetlyene torch and melt the bolt out using a cutting head. If not to much heat is used you will only melt the bolt and not the cast iron. If the threads are still useful then run a bottoming tap in to clean up threads. If not then drill to the oversize needed to put in a Heli-Coil insert. I asume the original size is 5/16.
This is a last resort to save a part or start over with another head. Another tip when a bolt is froze in alum. is to heat the bolt a bright red, let it cool and most times it will come out. This all sounds drastic but may save money in replacement parts.
