Al, Old Guy has it just right. I've used the same set up for the street and its a pleasure to drive a torque motor. For more go in the higher rpm (to 5500) find a stock iron 4 barrel intake and a 550 or 600 carb tuned to open at the right time. These engines respond to the same things that the orange ones do. The cam type referred to can be had for under $100 these days.
