It's probably made from 7076 Aluminum, which is as strong as mild steel. It is also very expensive, but what you have is a very high-quality lightweight machined piece of very expensive aluminum. Now, I am not saying that I would like to pay that much for it, but I have done machine work and it is very time consuming, and low production machined pieces that take critical load will always be high-priced.
:It's not so much that i'm a novice--i may not be an expert, but i know what i'm doing. My complaint is not having to pay for the wedges, it's the fact that the price they're charging ($240) costs almost as much as ALL the money i've spent on rebuilding the front end AND getting the entire front disc setup. I guarantee you that those wedges cost, at most, $3.00 to be manufactured (and they're aluminum, how safe is that?). Yet they turn around and sell them for $240. Even $100 would be a price i would be willing to swallow--for $240, i could have a set of decent rims (used) and some money in the bank for tires.
