Here's the scoop. The oil has shown up along the "seam" where the hood meets the body and through the bottem of the scoop on the passenger side. There is also oil pooling up in the hollow on top of the fan (OH for a picture! I'm an artist not a writer!) Her alternater ect are covered with a sheen of it.
Recently replaced the breather valve (we had the wrong one on before and she blew it off) and I find the dipstick "popping out of the tube. She doesn't emit any smoke or smell funny that I am aware of. The engine is dirty as sin BUT the oil on the dipstick is relatively clean (it was changed over a month and a half ago so there is signs of use so to speak)> there IS some old oil on the very tip of the dipstick but that could be due to the fact that the engine could use a good flush.
There is some belt squealing when she's cold (bent pully by looks of it) but the engine has been running smoothly for the most part.. the only time there is some noise is after a week or so when she's thrown out too much oil... add a quart and she's quiet again.
Monday, she goes to the detail place next to the shop to have her engine steamed to see if they can chase down the leak/s.
I have decided that IF the engine is "lunch" then she will come home and get covered up. I'll pay down my CC and start to put money aside to have it rebuilt. IF the apartment complex grouches I'll look into storeage. Alice and I have "been together" for five years now, I can't give up on her!(Think "Wilson" from Castaway")
This counts us out for the round up, possibly for another year or two even but just you wait... Champaign will be on us...
