John, I have a 200 with the bell housing pictured. I have another 200 with the 10 inch bolt patern. (10 inches refers to the size of the torqu converter.) My best recollection of the 250/289/302 bellhousing bolt pattern is that the starter is on the bottom. I have a 289 in a 67 Mustang and a 302 in a 77 Mav. The two 200 I6 bolt patters that I know about have the starter on the top. I also understand that there is one other casting for the 200 I6
