:I want to thank all the members for the positive support on this issue. I also wanted to say that I have been dealing on eBay much longer than I have been a member of this board (373 positive feedbacks at this time) so this wasn't just a spur of the moment thing I came up with. I have bought and sold hundreds of items on eBay, including many Maverick parts. I'm sure I've even bid against several members in the past trying to get what I wanted. eBay is a little sideline business for me. I honestly was just trying to make sure that any interested parties had a chance to make a bid on the console if they wanted.
:I still think that Roberts comment ("I hope the hight bidder does'nt pay and your stuck with it!") was uncalled for but that's okay, he's just expressing his feelings and that's part of what this board is for. I could only hope that next time he feels that way that he might just send a personal email instead of posting comments like that. Robert, that's just a personal request from me. :I feel like Tom got a little more carried away with this quote ("to put it on E-Bay then to tell Us only three days left! well kiss My You know what!") By the way, three days is a lot of time to make a bid. :Tom, I have always respected you as a fellow Maverick owner. I know you have been a member of this board much longer than I have because I have seen your name around for a while. I really never expected a long time member to say anything like that on a public board and I don't feel like that is the place for it. I enjoy reading the board every night and I also enjoy trying to help people when I can. You might want to think about your words a little before writing them in a post. Again, like I requested of Robert, send me an email if you don't like something I do or say on this board. I'm not hard to get along with and only want to be a part of this big Maverick family. We ARE a rare breed. :Thanks again to all...Ray Parrish I know I am one of the "newbies" around here, but I guess it really bothered me how angry the negative comments about Ray listing the consolee on eBay were. Bottom line, there's NONE of us who are going to please everybody, ever. I, too have used eBay as a selling and buying tool many times with good results. Unfortunately, I had to report a seller on Yahoo! to the FBI for not coming through with some software I purchased. There's about 8 others in the same boat. Like I said before, the perception of betrayal was being sent forth, like Ray had committed some heinous act. We can all second guess and tell Ray what he should have done or could have done. I guess what I'm trying to get to is let's keep things in perspective. Is what Ray did really that bad? I'm sure he felt like crap after the initial replies. But was he wrong? Did he deserve the harshness of the comments and sentiment? I still think not. We all are allowed to have our opinions, and you known the old saying about them. I have a thing about pettyness....I can't stand it and have had to deal with it too often. Express an opinion, make a statement...but, realize that everybody had differing ways they will do things. We will not agree with what everyone does all the time. Ask yourself before you show rightous indignation...do I always do things that others agree with? There's not one of us, myself included, that can answer yes to that question. |
