This car has the factory tow package. It was built to tow big campers back in 1976. RV's and Campers were a lot bigger back then than they are now...and a lot heavier. The factory tow package, as stated by the emblem on the rear bumper, is rated to tow up to 7000 pounds. Considering I see V6 SUV's going down the road today towing a 5000 pound camper....then I should have no problem at all.

I remember back in the early to mid 70's that my folks towed their '34 camper with a 1967 4-door Galaxie with a 390 V-8. Now that was a load!! I really anticipate that the wagon will pull a lot better than my 1988 F-250 SuperCab with the 351 V8. Just seems to not be enough motor for that big of a truck....plus the trailer. The 400 in my wagon should pull like the dikens!!

:I saw the post of your new tow wagon. Just wondering if it is "legal" to tow a trailer with a car on top with a station wagon? I'm guessing that a Mav on a trailer would weigh about 3,000 lbs. I know I don't like towing anything that big with anything less than a 3/4 ton truck. Just a thought. Russ
