Not sure about the 70 tank, but I put a 76 tank in a 77 and it was the same as my 73, for fit. The advantage I found w/ the 76 tank, was that they are 19 gal tanks, instead of 15. It looks the same, but I was looking for a leak when it took 20 gal the first fill up!@! I got it from AutoKrafters, so you might check w/ the, for an exact ruling.
