I use a 72 LTD 2dr, appx 4200 lbs, with a 460,C-6, 9" 3.50 gears to tow a 18' dual axle trailer with a 3100# car on it, plus all the stuff for racing in the trunk. I pass other "tow" vehicles including trucks and to includes pulling hills. I also use electric trailer brakes. 11" drums and disc brakes are also a big factor.


:I saw the post of your new tow wagon. Just wondering if it is "legal" to tow a trailer with a car on top with a station wagon? I'm guessing that a Mav on a trailer would weigh about 3,000 lbs. I know I don't like towing anything that big with anything less than a 3/4 ton truck. Just a thought. Russ
