:Anyone ever thought about (or tried) putting together a Mustang II front-end setup using one of the aftermarket suppliers, such as Heidts or FatMan Fabrications (you know, those old 'rod folks). Some kits are available with custom-length crossmembers. It looks to me like this route would be extremely easy, i.e. stripping off the stock suspension to the bare frame rails, welding in the crossmember and spring supports, then bolting everything together. Am I oversimplifying things? Or is this just too cost-prohibitive? The MII front suspension kit that others are refering to, like RC Motorsports, is fairly cheap considering what you can have. It runs approx. $2,300 for the front end kit, disc brakes, rack&pinion steering which also includes tubular control arms I believe. I was going to do it a few months back but I got caught up in another project and had to hold off for a while. I would still like to do it for my 351W swap. If you do decide to go that route, be sure to find a very good welder! |
