Riding thru a nearby neighborhood today and a guy was clearing out from behind his house(lots of old cars and junk,overgrown with trees and shrubs) well right out by the road sat two Mav`s
ready to be hauled to the scrap yard! One is a 1970 6 CYL. Grabber,Red with black stripes just like Charlie Pings car! The other is about a `76 four door with a U.S. govt. sticker on the doors. The guy told me I could take whatever I wanted off of them and he wished he had known someone would be interested in them before he drove a forklift thru the windshields and picked them up by there roofs! They had been sitting there since the late `70s or early eighties I went back and stripped all of the stuff I or someone else might could use. The Grabber of course has the Flat Hood with the two seperate black stripes I looks absolutely sweet until you open it and then you see that it is heavily rusted in the rear brace that goes from one hinge to the other. If anyone needs anything off of one orf these cars let me know and I`ll check on it for you ...but I dont know how long it`ll be before the guy has them hauled away. M.A.V. |
