i went to several junkyards, a really put a hurtin on the back, trying to retro-fit.
i guess i will look for another pedal. i really wondered if a torino or other car would be the same bolt pattern.
i didnt see any granada's or mavericks.
i went off and bought the dang edelbrock "throttle cable, relocator kit". i guess i need to use a stock cable, and eliminate all guesswork.
if i have to go with a pedal/cable that uses the slit/bead connection... im perfectly willing to do that.
but really, i dont want to have to make anymore adaptions than necessary.
someone emailed me and said there was one on ebay. if its correct... ill just buy it, and the problem is solved.

thanks for the advice though. i may still need it.

::MT I think i've answered this but here goes:Take a late model 75up cable and use the Granada bracket at carb. use the late model pedal and remove pin out of floor bracket and install 72 floor bracket replace pin and your set to go with the cable for correct pedal with the slit and bead instead of the cast eye on the end of cable. auto zone can get the late cable. No body even lists the 72 cable.I just replaced mine a month ago and it took me an hour.I hooks right up to a holley carb.I know where there are at least 5 pedals and cables in awrecking yard here in NC. E-mail me if you cant find one.
