Yes. Its probably true, horse does'nt sound that bad...
Anyway, I a going to check the fuel pump just to be sure but Will also use the gas tank stuff. I was wandering this car did sit for about 12 years before I bought it, but it has had several full tanks of gas so far without problem? ::: :::..Jared, I think you better get a horse. If it backfires you'ell know whats going on for sure. It wants some hay! :::..Some things to check are, fuel pump, water in the gas, out of gas, carb dirt, points, coil. Hope it helps. :::Ken :: ::I think it may be the fuel pump, but I am in a quandary. When you push the gas pedal it accelerates, but when it idles it keeps running barely, it sound like it is going to die. Runs for a second then hesitates etc... Any thoughts? : :...Yes, sounds like you got gas somewhere and it has some water in it. Put 1 can of drygas in the tank. It will take awhile for it to work. What happens is the idle and low speed carb circuit feed out the bottom of the fuel bowl and thats where the water lies. The main jet and power circuit is raised above the bottom and thence above the water so the engine gets clean gas at greater throttle and seams to then run ok. Had this happen to me once so wait, and run the car far enough for it to clear,25 miles or ?, or drain tank and blow line out. Whats left in carb will clear its self. :Did you laugh about the horse? :Ken |
