:Ok, so i installed traction bars today, it used to be that on a hard take off i would get alittle bit of wheelspin and it always was the passenger tire that would break first. Now i installed the traction bars and i get a bunch load of wheelspin, the passenger wheel still breaks first and the drivers side will sometimes break right after that. I mean i NEVER had a problem with being able to lay down a nice little patch and make ALOT of noise. Now the whole idea of the traction bar is to stiffen the springs, to load them and plant the tire, and to keep the rear axle from twisting the rear springs into a S shape. I heard that you can also adjust the rubber nobs so the car launches straight and to stiffen the springs independantly to make a limited slip act like a posi (much like you can with airbags)

:Is the traction bar doing its job? i mean i must be getting more power to the ground to be able to spin reasonablly easy now? Also if the passenger side is breaking first, do i need to raise the driverside nobs closer to the leaf spring to plant the drivers side sooner?

..Only an opinion based on what your saying. First, if you are using the low priced bars that clamp onto the springs fore and aft of the axle, then what has been done is by stiffining the springs, weight transfer front to rear 'effectiveness' has been reduced some what, at the same time the stiffer spring on the right side seems to have evened up the bite a little more by not allowing the axle torque twist to unload the right tire as much indicated by the left now breaking loose some.
..If you stay with these bars, then adjusting the bars to allow the right bar to slap hard well before the left, could even up the bite. The rubber bumper should not be against the spring or even close so it has some travel to shock load the axle. Don't forget that if you plant your tires well, there will be much less tire spin, thats the object of doing this.
..The better solution it to get different bars that don't bind up the springs and use an air bag to preload the right axle which happenes during front to rear weight transfer.
..Limited slip and posi are just used interchangeably. There the same thing. It sounds like you have an open rear or if you have posi the discs are wore out.
..Finding the setup is part of the fun of all this and seeing the complex relationship that exists.
..Luck to you,Ken
