the stock cam is 266* dur, .368 lift on intake, 244* dur, .388 lift exhaust, and a 112 LSA.
the 268H won't hurt you much, if at all, it is cut for better range than the original cam, more lift, roughly the same duration, and better designed for the restrictive exhaust ports on Ford heads.
it should have close to the same low RPM and a little more high RPM power.
don't expect miracles, but it won't hurt.
Single plane is a bad idea, you have a low RPM engine, you don't want a high RPM intake, as mentioned above.
Weiend(sp), Edelbrock, or even a stock Ford dual plane 4bbl intake(84-86 Mustang 5.0 HO is a decent example), around a 550 or 600CFM carb, headers and gears. If the engine is going to live for awhile, I'd consider swapping in the 268H, but mine is going downhill, so I'm not putting new parts in it until I rebuild it.

:Yeah, thats what i was told and meant to say yesterday. I called PAW today and spoke to a tech at lenght about what i want to do. He said to get the duels on and hold tight for a roller motor to show up cheap. In the mean time to get the heads done and save money to put 10:1 compression pistons in the new block with a F-303 cam. He said if i really want to do anything now that i could put the heads on, get a duel plane manifold and put the carb on then add a 268/268 218/218 .456/.456 110 degree cam. But i would prolly lose abit of power unless i shave the heads to bump compression up. So i am gonna just install the headers/exhuast for now. Went and got a book on compression as well. Thanks for the repeat and drive home speachs i am learning

:::David, that single plane intake doesn't start working untill about 2500 rpm! The stock engine with the stock cam and heads probably runs out of "ump" (flow) at 4500 rpm. That leaves you with about 2000 usable rpm! Try the dual exhaust with the 3.80 gears and leave the old 2bbl with the stock intake and see what happens! I feel the 4bbl and single plane intake will slow the car down! If you can find a nice stock dual plane 4bbl intake than that would seem more reasonable. Don't use that single plane until the motor is built to "use" it.
