just one bit of advice.
don't underestimate the 74 heads. They are pre-smog, much smaller bumps in the exhaust(if you port the E7s, they should be about the same) and higher compression.
up to 76 the Ford heads were good, before 70 is preferred, but anything before 77 ok, 77-86ish, 69cc chambers, constrictive exhaust ports, etc.
:Well i decided to heck with the engine in it. I am surrounded by car parts and just figured it is easier to go out and buy a 5.0 Roller motor and slap a carb/manifold on it. If the guy takes my offer for it (275.00). Overall my car has 138hp and 238 ft/tq, just the swap should bump me upto 215/225hp and 260/275 ft/tq, so i should notice a BIG difference in that. I will be putting headers, duels, a ported/shaven E7's, performer rpm manifold, 600 holly and am not sure what cam. I am thinking a E303. My friend runs the same setup and runs a F303 with decent results behind a 3000 convertor and 4:11 gears. 350hp is the goal and should be easy. The good news is if i do get the engine the headers and stall convertor will be easy to swap in. I am gonna go roller motor regardless if he takes the offer or not, i have seen afew roller short blocks going for less then 300.00. Anyways thanks for the persistance all, i will keep ya all updated.
